Take a remarkable journey to The Island in the Middle of Everywhere!
Developed by Ingenium Canada in partnership with the Xwe’etay/Lasqueti Archaeology Project, this photographic exhibition showcases the historical food-gathering practices that allowed Northern Coast Salish peoples to prosper for generations. The remains of these practices are reminders of the deep history of Indigenous peoples on Xwe’etay and why it is vitally important to protect that heritage today.
Come visit The Island in the Middle of Everywhere, learn about the archaeological work in progress, and witness the beauty of the Xwe’etay/Lasqueti Island!

Calling all writers!
Are you a local author, poet, researcher, or literary enthusiast who would like to share your work with the community?
Let us introduce you to our QB Reads Series – an open writers festival dedicated to celebrating local talent and creativity.
This series is open to all writers and researchers, of any kind, who are looking for a welcoming space to do a reading or a presentation. The Qualicum Beach Museum is happy to provide a comfortable public space where local writers can have a platform to share their work with the community – all free of charge and available year-round!
What we offer:
– Your choice of space within the museum buildings or grounds, capable of hosting up to 30 people, chairs and tables included.
– A podium, sound system, and your choice of assorted stage dressings which can possibly include artefacts.
– Promotional support which includes social media assistance, event advertising, and graphic design for posters and other media.
– Photographs of the event.
